During the week beginning 16tth to 20th November, the Children of Stewart Headlam Primary School have been learning about the UN convention on the Rights of the Child for its 26th anniversary.  The school took part in celebrating the CRC by letting off balloons and writing a letter to the Prime Minister – Mr David Cameron.  As part of the Rights Respecting School Project all of the schools in the neighbouring area have put forward a letter of petition which the Prime Minister will be taking forward and putting on to the agenda.  These powerful letters which have been compiled from year 1 -6 will contribute in changes being made globally.  We are very proud of our children for their accomplishments and we had a very Rights Respecting day on the 20th November 2015.

Children from Year 6 performed in an assembly to the whole school re children’s rights. It was an amazing performance.

The children feel strongly on the universal right to education and the right to safety.
